On Friday, 17.12.2021, a total of 22 km of the new D11 motorway from Hradec Králové to Jaroměř was officially opened. The main purpose of the newly constructed motorway is to divert the congested traffic network from the capacity insufficient I/33 road. It was a seven-kilometre section from Smiřice to Jaroměř.

The construction of the Smiřice - Jaroměř section started in 2018 and was completed exactly as planned in December 2021. Currently, the preparation of the last two sections of the Jaroměř - Trutnov and Trutnov - state border with Poland, which are connected to this route, is underway and their construction is planned to start in 2024/2025.

A total of nine bridges have been built on the Smiřice - Jaroměř route implemented by PORR, including three flyovers, one steel railway bridge and five motorway bridges. The section is further supplemented by two off-grade crossings near Jaroměř.

"Several areas across the PORR Group worked together on the project and the project was an excellent opportunity for us to introduce modern technologies, such as the laying of structural layers using Trimble 3D technology, which we introduced, tested and successfully managed here," said Ing. Ondřej Řezníček, project manager.

The construction is implemented in accordance with FIDIC - The Red Book.

The total order volume of PORR a.s. amounted to 1.5 bil. CZK..
