Shopping centre Letňany

As a general contractor and leading member of a consortium, in cooperation with PBW Group s.r.o., PORR a.s. was awarded a contract for extensive renovation and reconstruction of the OCLetňany shopping centre in Prague. In order to disrupt ongoing operations as little as possible, the project was divided into several separate sections, both in terms of location and time.

The most extensive reconstruction works included the food court area, including the renovation of adjacent sanitary facilities, the passage, the area in front of the multi-room cinema and the interior lining of the dominant passage roof light.

We paid no less attention to the redesign of the entrance area in the converted passage, the steel construction including awning and the logos on the façade of the shopping centre. A new open space, a so-called "Void", was created in the centre of the oval main shopping arcade. We also moved the escalators to make this part of the building more attractive for visitors.

On the first floor an inner garden including a pond and waterfall was created, with the water falling down to the ground floor. Our colleagues were also able to demonstrate all their skills in the redesign of a new atrium leading across both floors. This required the demolition of existing ceilings in order to be able to install a steel construction weighing several tons. These construction measures were carried out during operating hours, so to speak above the heads of the visitors.
