A large-scale warehouse for Budějovický Budvar.

PORR erected a new large-scale warehouse on the property of the Budějovický Budvar brewery in České Budějovice. The facility is used to store beer kegs and beer crates. An area of 3,075m2 contains a storehouse, refrigerated warehouse and valve station. A projecting roof covering an area of 4,679m2 was also constructed.

The warehouse stands on broad-profile reinforced concrete pilings. Its load-bearing construction consists of a prefabricated framework erected on site. The load-bearing layer of the roof cladding is constructed from trapezoidal sheeting.

The warehouse has a large coolroom with interior walls and ceiling comprising a polyurethane heat-absorption system. Cooling effects are ensured by two roof-mounted cooling units. The evaporator was installed beneath the ceiling of the coolroom.

The outer shell of the hall contains a heat absorption system consisting of a reinforced concrete surface with a core of mineral rock wool. All prefabricated construction elements were designed as exposed concrete constructions with no surface treatment. The outer shell has built-in thermally-insulated industrial sectional doors with integrated wicket doors. The floor was constructed from steel fibre concrete with a smoothed surface. Automatic ceiling lights provide lighting and ventilation.

The hall is heated by water heating units and water heating warm air curtains at entrance doors. Compact fire detection and sprinkler systems protect the building in the event of fire. The sprinkler machine room, which supplies the system with water, was accommodated in a separate building. The power transformation plant was also realised as a free-standing building.

Within the framework of this project, a partly-glassed 4.5m high sound insulation wall was erected next to the neighbouring site.

Extensive paved areas were constructed to connect shunting areas in the brewery with existing access roads for easier lorry access. The unpaved areas were arranged as green spaces. Roadway and paved surfaces amount to a total area of 6,451m2.
